Eggscape is a multiplayer Mixed Reality game where up to four players control egg characters in 3D worlds blended with the real environment. With a tone of absurd and bizarre humor, players fight robots, unlock skills, and build their own worlds using real objects.

The game also lives as a location-based installation: giant glowing letters that spell out EGGSCAPE become the playing tables, built for malls and arcades and installed at Two Bit Circus in the US.

Identity

The logo went through dozens of hand-drawn passes before landing on a chunky, arcade-style wordmark: loud, three-dimensional, and cracked open like the eggs themselves.

Key art

Concept key art to set the tone of the world: absurd, colourful, and a little chaotic.

The eggs

One simple body — an egg with legs — built to carry endless personality. Every cosmetic started as a drawing over the base silhouette before being modelled.

Robots

The enemies: blocky, toy-like robots, all the way up to a boss that fights you in a boxing ring.

Mixed reality levels

Levels are built on top of your own room: platforms, tubes and machines that sit on the sofa, the table and the floor. From the first grey-box prototypes to the final look.

The lobby

The hub where players meet between games, designed in perspective sketches first and then built and painted over in 3D.

Interface

A full UI system that floats in your room: home, leaderboards, store, menus, progression and rewards, each screen sketched by hand before going to 3D.

Rewards

Honor badges, collectable eggs, coins and loot: the small objects that make progression feel good.

Full VR worlds

Skies and floating islands for the fully virtual mode.
