Federico Carlini is a Director, Musical Composer, Producer, Guitarist, Visual Artist, and Art Director from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His artistic approach is built through the fusion of images and music, exploring various realms of the creative world and constructing a language with a clear inclination towards abstract expression. His work is characterized by generating images from sounds and vice versa.
He has participated in numerous internationally recognized audiovisual projects, including "Earth - Lil Dicky & Leonardo Di Caprio," "Uncanny Valley - 3dar," and "Shave It - 3dar."
One of his most notable works was the direction of the immersive musical/visual experience "Paper Birds" (2020), in which he collaborated with renowned artists such as Joss Stone, Edward Norton, Juan José Mosalini, and Cyrille Marchesseau. This piece has been awarded and nominated at several international festivals, including the "Biennale di Venezia, Italy, 2020" as a nominee for Best Immersive Virtual Reality Experience, the "Tribeca Film Festival, NYC, USA, 2021" as a nominee for Best Immersive Experience, the "Raindance Film Festival 2021, London, UK" for Best Virtual Reality Experience and Best Animation Experience, and the "Kaohsiung Film Festival 2021, Taiwan."
Furthermore, Federico Carlini has directed, produced, and composed his first solo album titled "Waqay" (2015), where he establishes an aesthetic that combines contemporary jazz with Latin American roots.
Throughout his career, he has acquired knowledge and skills in a self-taught manner, participating in classes, courses, and workshops taught by renowned artists such as Quique Sinesi, Gustavo Fedel, Carlos Campos, Edgardo Cardozo, Marcelo Moguilevsky, Mono Fontana, Gustavo Suarez, and at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory. These formative experiences have contributed to his artistic development and enriched his creative vision.
With his trajectory and constant exploration of new forms of artistic expression, Federico Carlini has established himself as a composer, producer, and art director in the artistic scene of Buenos Aires and beyond. His approach and ability to unite music and images have earned him recognition both nationally and internationally.
He is currently immersed in the creation of his new musical album "Petricor" set to be released in mid-2023. Comprised of 7 original compositions, this ambitious project will feature the accompaniment of a magnificent orchestra from Buenos Aires and will be recorded at Fort Music Studios. In this album, he has taken on multiple roles, as he has composed, directed, produced, and performed guitars, piano and keyboards, bass, and vocals.
